Stupid question

New to this forum and I have what is likely going to be a stupid question to most here so please humor me. Ive noticed on a lot of peoples posts at the bottom there is a list of numbers and BP morphs. Just wondering the meaning of them. Like 0.1 pastel followed by 1.0 Ghost etc etc. Thanks.

Not stupid at all. I asked it when I joined too.

the number before the period is male, after the period is female. If there is a third number, the sex is unknown. So...

1.0 pied = 1 male pied
1.1 enchi = 1 male and 1 female enchi

0.1.2 Mojave = 0 males, 1 female, and 2 uknown male/female mojaves.

Those are the acceptable ways to denote the sex of a animal and the number of animals. 1.0 means that the animal is male and 0.1 denotes female. Then 0.0.1 would denote one undetermined sex animal. 2.0 would denote two males and 0.2 would be two females. So on and so forth with the number of animals.

it's funny actually. i recall hearing this method of tracking sexes growing up but never understood it either lol. for example, someone would say "when i grow up, i want a husband, a house with white picket fences, 2.3 kids and a dog." i was like how could u have a 3rd of a kid? lol at one point i thought it meant 2 kids and 3 babies.

how do you make that signature or post script or whatever you call it, some people have thier animals, some have a quotation or a banner for theirwebsite. I've been looking through my profile but can't figure out how to add it.

I don't think that has anything to do with this way of counting sexes. 2.3 (two point three, not 2 boys and 3 girls) kids was the average in the US back then. So they were just saying they wanted the average number of kids, to live "The American Dream" ;). Now the average number of kids is only 1.8!

Hehe, yeah, it took me forever to figure out what all those numbers meant. At least you're smart enough to ask! Lol.

From the home page, there's a box near the top left that says "Site Navigation". Click "User CP" in that box. Once the new screen loads, you will see a box on the left side of the screen titled "My Settings". You'll want to click on "Edit Signature" within the "My Profile" part of that box. From there, you'll be able to create, edit, and save your signature.
