Kitty shed without any extra help
I sat and watched Kitty shed last night, head to tail, one peice. This is the first succsessful self shed he has ever had. It was fascinating. You should have seen it. I am so proud. That means that no matter how dehydrated Kitty was while he was at Jason's it wasn't too bad, cux this shed was perfect. I attribute that partly to the new enclosure, that holds humidity like nobodies biznus, and the soaking he did a couple of times between sheds. I am so pleased. He had a sad looking bit on his tail that has shed off and looks all better. It is fabulous. Almost 2 years and this is his first unassited perfect shed. I must be doing something right :)

That's great! I found Lily's shed last night! All in one piece too. It's great. Now if only I can get Dandylion shedding like that. I don't expect it but I can hope. You're lucky if you got to see the shedding process. I haven't yet had that experience. Lily goes into major lazy mode when she sheds.

must be shedding time....thor left another perfect shed in his enclosure last night :) and a big dump :(

Once you catch them in shedding you will understand why it is so hard to catch at the right time....shedding is a pretty fast process

It might be a couple more sheds before Dandilion is shedding smoothly, but not to worry, she could suprise you with a good shed next time. Kitty has had good sheds for quite some time now, but he had a history of splitting the shed or had a little problem with the very end of his tail, so I would up the humidity a lot and do the pillow case trick, to be sure the shed would all come off. This time I didn't do anything, Kitty did it all by himself, I am so proud.

I've definitely love the humid hide, but Dandylion won't use them yet. Won't use any of the hides except the terra cotta pot bottom. He loves that. Hopefully I can work him into using one soon!

if you put one in there, he will use it....now you witnessing him use it...thats a different story. I used to use moss in my humid hides, so everynow and then I would find a 'moss trail' leaving the humid hide....but it looked like my bp had never moved. Now that I use paper towels...I have no clue if they go in there or not..ha.

I've got one in mine and so does my neighbor... it's shed time and she's been in it for the last few days. :)
