Final Pics Before Rehome

Hello. So I wound up in a situation where I have only a short time to move (this week now) and 99% of rental properties/apartments in my area don't allow any sort of animals, no exceptions. After a month of searching, applying, and getting denied at the last place that would allow her due to having too low a credit score (only had credit for about six months as I'm newly a college student), I had to rehome Kayly. Within minutes, she was drinking water and goofing around her hides like normal. :) I know the person with whom I've left her will care for her well and be very happy. She's with a friend so I can see her on occasion and I will hopefully get her back if I find a place that will allow it.

Sorry that you had to part with her, for now, but sometimes we have to do difficult things like this. Hang in there. At least you know she has a good home, and you can still see her when you want to.

aawww. i'm sorry u two have to say good-bye for now. hope your situation gets better and u can get Kayly back soon enough.

Not sure a snake is even considered a problem as a rental animal, they don't smell, don't make a sound, and are completely contained in a glass or plastic container. I probably wouldn't have even mentioned that I'm bringing in a snake, can't really bother the neighbors or do any damage to the property at all. You could probably put him in a sweater box and slide it under your bed LOL.

Agreed, I don't really let my landlord know I have snakes, not that anything is really counted in our lease. If the pet is in a cage, they don't care. Nonetheless, I'm sorry OP that you have to give up your pet. =/

i told my leasing office about the one i had when i moved in. haven't said a word to them about the other 38 i've accumulated since. :rolleye2:

At least Kayly is going to a nice, caring home, and the good part is that you'll still be able to see her.

Always best to be upfront about your animals when attempting to rent apartments. Yes, it can make things a touch more difficult, but it's best not to have to hide them. Inspections and emergency maintenance *do* happen, and you really don't want your landlord to suddenly discover that you're in violation of your rental agreement. Good on you for doing things the right way, OP, and good luck with eventually finding a place to live where you can reclaim your BP.
