    Pastel Pied Question
I was just wondering. Do the normal spots on pastel pieds brown out as they grow? Or does the pied gene leave the normal spots as they are?

Usually no. They don't brown out, but it's variable and depends on the quality and expression of the pastel gene. Pied will usually enhance the coloration. However, on the other hand the pied gene has a tendency to disrupt the patterning. IMO.

    Daniel,

It's important to remember that when selecting snakes to be used to produce combos or any breeding project for that matter that both sides of the pedigree come from lines of selectively bred quality animals.

Here is a photo of one of my yellow striped pieds, I can't wait to see the pastel pieds that this little girl produces. Starting off with quality animals will only increase the probability of reproducing quality animals.

Best of luck with the project.

Here's a group shot of my pieds - the one is a juvenile pastel pied, two are juvenile "pixel pieds" (a project I'm working on), and there's an adult (~1200g) pied. The adult browned a little, but still has bright yellow fringe around the bottom edges of her saddles. Not sure how the "pixels" will grow out.

Brian - I love how bright that baby is!

Edit: Actually adding the picture would help.
