    Retained Egg
Hey! My female cinnamon, who laid 5 eggs perfectly last year, had some trouble this year. She was supposed to lay sometime from 4/20 to 4/29 or so, but she didn't lay until 5/24! She gave me four pretty good looking eggs. They have some windows, but feel perfect. The trouble is she still definitely has an egg in her and it's still pretty far from her tail. I have no experience with this, and she's acting perfectly fine s far, so I don't want to rush off to the vet if it's just something would resolve itself. Does anyone have experience with this? The only thing I've found online was that she'd lay it within several hours, but its been about a day and a half. At what point would you really get concerned, and is there anything I could do to help her move the egg along?

    Thanks!

Really not sure. Mt pied laid her clutch back in Jan '16 and i thought she was done with four eggs so i lifted her off the eggs but could tell right away that she still had a egg in the womb. I took the four eggs and placed her back down in the tub. In 30 minutes she pushed out the other egg. I would think the longer it takes the more problematic. Maybe other members who have more knowledge will weigh in. In the meantime why dont you contact some reputable breeders by phone. Garrick Demeyer, Corey Delong, David Green and Eric Alan.

Try to massage it down kind of like palpating her with your hand
