Incubator Issue

I have a Nature's Spirit incubator that I've been using a couple seasons now. Previously, the egg tubs have held about a one degree difference between what the thermostat was set at. I've never had more than one tub incubating at a time before. I now have 4 tubs and have to keep the temp set at 94 or 95 to keep the tub temp at 89. Also, there is a temp difference between 88 and 91 in different tubs.

Is this normal and how do you handle keeping one tub from going too high while trying to keep others from going too low?

Where is the placement/location of the thermostat probe, and what type of termostat is the incubator using to control the temperature?

The thermostat probe is placed under the shelf in the middle of the incubator. I always used the top shelf when I had only one clutch. I now have two tubs on the top shelf and two on the middle shelf. The thermostat is a Helix DBS-1000. The probes in the tubs are placed among the eggs on the plastic that is on top of the light grating, which is on top of the vermiculite.

It seems the fluctuation has something to do with having more tubs in the incubator. I just don't know why the temps in the tubs are so different. Tonight, one is sitting at 86.7 and another at 91.2

The temperature inside the egg tubs is going to vary depending on each clutch. Typically, an egg tub with a clutch that is close to hatching will have a higher temperature compared to a clutch that is not.

When incubating ball python eggs, I set my thermostat at 89.5°F, and I only measure the temperature of the ambient air, not the inside of the egg tubs. I use a digital thermometer inside the incubator to verify the ambient temperature and to make sure the thermostat is working properly.

I have a small CPU style fan inside the incubator as well.

That makes sense. I'll just set mine to 90 and leave it alone. I also have a digital thermometer inside to check the air temp in the incubator and it has a fan also. Thanks!
