    Hide for an Adult BCI
I am looking to get a hide from Reptile Basics for my 8ft long BCI who is huge. I realize that he may not use it, but I would like to give him that option or atleast let him just chill on top of it if he pleases. Which Reptile Basics size hide would fit this monster? Large or their Jumbo one?
    thanks

I think he's outgrown the jumbo. I would hesitate to put any hide in there though b/c you only have the 12" high AP enclosure and if your snake slides the hide under the RHP it will be closer than the safe distance from the RHP.

good point. I guess that's an incentive to get a bigger cage lol

If you do, check Lowes or Home Depot for concrete mixing tubs. Cut off a corner to make an access point, and you have a durable hide for a large snake for around $6.

I bought this tub at Walmart in the kitchen area for $2-3.

Punch is 7 feet and thick, he never touched it in a month. It would have worked if wanted to use it.

Oh yeah, the RB hides are way too small for him.

I have my 6.5' boa in an extra large hide, and he fits in it with enough room for another 5' boa in there. I'd be surprised if an 8-footer couldn't fit in a jumbo hide.

Whoops sorry he's only in a large, not an extra large! You could fit a mid-sized retic in a jumbo hide, let alone a 8' boa.

I too use the same hides Reinz uses for my 6'+ girl. Most of the time she just pushes it around or sits her head on top. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered 2 AP T10 cages a few days ago. One for my BP and one for my sunglow. Figure the BP will be fine but if/when the sunglow outgrows hers and my 6' boa outgrows her Proline cage, ill just order up 2 T25s and that will give me an excuse for 2 more snakes as I will have 2 empty T10s ;)
