screen top clips

I put the clips on the lid of the tank twice and both times ive had a hell of a time getting them off. does this happen to anyone else? And i think once i get my snake it will stay pretty secure in the enclosure because the cover fits preety tight and has to be manuvered in a certain way to be taken off. what do u guys think??

That is what the purpose of the clips is. To keep the lid on, even if it is "owner proof". It's either snake-proof or it's not. I use metal c-clamps to hold the lid of my iris tub on, and yes, it's a pain to get them off and put them back on everytime I want to get her out, but it's MUCH better than her being lost in my house. Is your lid one of the sliding kinds? Even if you think it fits tight, snakes are VERY flexible, and even if you think it's snake proof, it's usually not. I would just rather be safe and, although it is a pain to get those clips on, that is a good sign. That means that snake ain't coming out!

yup when i used aquariums those clips were hard as heck to get off but that's just how you want them to be. tight is good.

I use the glass enclosures with the sliding screen tops. I don't use any clamps at all but do use a lock in the front where the two pieces with the hole meet together.

I don't think they could get out of there. None of mine ever have...even the baby corns.
I think they would have to rip the screen somehow and with the balls I have clear contact paper stuck to that so I am hoping they don't get out.

The clamps that came with my enclosures said they were for the special light tops to attach to the tank.

I use the metal clips on my boa's 55g tank. Yes, they are a pain in the patoot to get off! I just use an old butterknife and pry them off carefully by inserting the knife between the side of the tank rim and the clip.
