Help!! 911

My ball python just finished his shed right now
But notice his belly has a pinkish color to it! Should i be
Worried is this normal?!?!?!

Google says it's likely either the snake is about to shed (IDK if it lingers for after a shed) or it could be a belly burn. Check the temperatures inside your cage and see how hot everything is and make sure you're using a thermostat.

Someone who isn't a newbie like me would be able to tell you via the pictures exactly which problem it is (but it never hurts to check cage temperatures and you want to do that on a regular basis anyways.)

Could be a belly burn, but I think it may be the start of scale rot. What type of bedding do you have? are you using a under the tank heating pad/ heat mat?
Also, has it ever blistered in the area that's pink-ish? I've heard scale rot starts that way, but when I dealt with it it started as a pink-ish like that.

Aspen bedding...undertank heat pad is what i use..but i noticed my snake removed the bedding that was covering the heatpad so when he was on it he was touching the glass where the heat pad is stuck too..i hope its not scale rott!!! I do have a thermostat too so its not super hot

Are you measuring the temps on top of the glass (where snakey sits) with a temp gun? Where's your probe?

You should probably have your under the tank heat pad on, and when its warm put your hand on it to see how hot?
The situation makes it seem like a burn, but i'm not a vet so I can't really help. Sorry..
If you have silvadene cream, i'd put some on it. If you don't have any, someone told me about this website that sells some.

Unfortunately this isn't a reliable method of testing temp. Temp guns are supa cheap, and completely accurate and reliable when used correctly.

One of my guys had a pink belly after a shed, made me kind of nervous. But it went away after a couple of days. So if you have a thermostat on your UTH and are pretty sure the temps are accurate, just give it a few days before panicking.

BUT, if you don't have a thermostat on your UTH, and he recently moved the substrate and was sitting on the glass, it's probably a burn :/. But fortunately it doesn't look too bad, yet anyway---sometimes burns look a lot worse the next day. So, if it doesn't get any worse, just unplug the UTH until you can get a thermostat, and put him on paper towels until his next shed. If it does get worse, best to call the vet.

ETA: oops, saw that you do have a thermostat. What kind? What's it set at? Where's the probe? How confident are you that the temps are accurate? If the glass temp is under 95 it won't cause a burn.

I really hope its not scale rott!! His temps are all perfect..
As for the probe i taped it in his hot side hide at the very top! I have it at 88 in his hide...he didnt have his belly like that yesterday i just noticed it today once he was done shedding!

You want the thermostat prob to be underneath the glass and on top of the UTH so you can regulate the hottest part of the cage the snake can get to is (the glass right above the uth.) Also I hear you're not supposed to put tanks inside snake cages since snakes don't mesh well with tape if it were to somehow get stuck on the snake.
