What Acurite?

Looking at buying Acurite for my tank. What one does everyone use? Will be for a T8 with a RHP using a herpstat .

Mine are similar to these but I think my model is discontinued but this one will work.

I had one of the 9 I own keep reading -40 degrees and called acurite last night told them the model and told them I bought it last month from Walmart (which I did) and there sending me a new version free and I don't even have to send the old one back bc its discontinued and they don't make parts anymore for it. They didn't even care about a receipt just the sticker code in the battery compartment.

That's awesome! Yeah, mine is still working, but I need more of them as my collection grows. Just snapped one of the ones you posted. Is that the new one or is there an update model? I can't find any others with probes to put on the hot spots.

Thats the new one in the link i posted. They have on eBay a guy sells model 00891hdm just bought one of these as well I'll have it Thursday, I'll put the link below. The 00891hdm is similar to the one I had except the one I had was black. The 9 I have are 00891W3.

I just ordered this one and will probably order several more. There a little more then the new ones but I like they don't have that stand.

I just bought the new one because I, too, thought I was crazy when I couldn't find the other one. The stand folds up flat against the back. You don't know it's there if you don't need it.

I see that Acurite is often mentioned as the brand to get, why is that? There are so many temperature/probe models made. I'd appreciate any input on this one.

Also, is there a temperature reader that will accept 3 probes from 3 different setups? I tried googling such a device, but ended up getting meat thermometers and BBQ forums :confusd:
