What morph is this???

So I just got my first baby ball python, I did do tons and tons of research but not to much on morphs.

Here's a picture of Kaa, I would love it if somebody could tell me which morph he is:

Hard to say from the lighting in that pic. Think there's some Pastel in there, but something interesting is going on near his tail. Almost looks paradox.

Need more pics.

I don't really want to bother him right now; he just ate. Two fuzzies and very very fast, wonder why he was so hungry...

Mouse fuzzies? Even two would be far to small for any BP unless it had been starved for an extended period and your boy looks like he's got a healthy size to him.

No, not mouse fuzzies. If I was going to switch him over to mice, what size would be best for him??

Im just glad that he ate, the person at the store said he hadn't eaten in a little bit, by I do blame that on her. Kaa's enclosure was waaayy too cold, like I wouldn't even keep a corn snake that cold...

I am going to wait 2 days before handling him, although he is pretty active right now.

Yeah, I think hes a pastel too; most people say that if the snake has green eyes it is most certainly a pastel, don't know how true this is though..


Kaa's eyes are like half green, half black..

Why switch to mice? If it will take rats leave it be. You would just need to switch back later. If its not broke don't fix it.

I'd say Pastel. Supers generally have a much more blushed out head, almost as if the color has been erased. Those are typical Pastel eyes.

For a new keeper, it is easiest to determine what size of prey by snake weight. Get a kitchen scale, they run about 20$ at Walmart. Once you've got the snake's weight (make sure you zero out weight of the bowl/tub/etc that you weigh it in), from there it's simple math - a general rule of thumb is a prey item that is 10-15% of the snakes body weight. (weight x .10 for low end, weight x .15 for top end) Use the chart below once you have the snake's weight to choose a rodent size that falls in this range. As you can see, it shows weights for both mice and rats, although if your snake is eating rats I would personally let him continue on them. An alternative is to choose a prey item that is roughly the same circumference as the thickest part of the snake.
