    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any pics of a homemade humidifier or at least directions on how to build one. I have a cage that is 4'x2'x2' and i cant get the humidity to stay at least over 50. I want to try to make a humidifier if possible to save money. :(

What kind of cage is it? Wooden? Is it sealed? How is it built? Any screen? How are you measuring the humidity? If it is with an analog dial-type hygrometer from the pet store, I'd have to say it is most likely inaccurate. You can get a good digital unit from WalMart that also measures two different temps and the humidity for $15. The brand is Acu-Rite and the full title of it is: Digital Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer and Hygrometer w/Probe. You can find these in the outdoor thermometer section, which is behind the household paint section and by the lightbulb section. Humidity can stay around 45-50% and no ill-effects will be seen. If you are worried about bad sheds, you can add a humid hide. We have a Do-It-Yourself section here that gives good instructions on how to make one. Circular Gladware containers work great for humid hides. These are placed on the warm side of the enclosure so it creates a "sauna" inside the hide. Humidifying the entire enclosure sometimes isn't a good idea because it could set your snake up for a respiratory infection or scale rot.

Hope this helps a bit, and Welcome to the site. Good to have you around. So what are you housing in such a big enclosure?

You can try this humidity chamber. It's inexpensive and looks nice.
