    Getting even better
Since February 20 2016 I've compiled a collection of several snakes. 2 carpet pythons, 2 corn snakes, 2 hognose snakes and one California king. They are all very young and hence they stay mostly hidden right now but in just the last few days I've noticed a pattern and personality starting to show in my oldest snake which is a coastal carpet named Shag. I have this one fake branch item in his enclosure which he stays perched on at it highest point during the day. The other day just after lights out I offered him his f/t rat pup while he was still perched there which he eagerly took. Now it is close to feeding day again and I noticed that after lights are out he is staying perched there but has his head and body extended downward toward the floor slightly which I think is a hunting position. Really cool looking and it is time to feed again this evening and I can't wait. Also looking forward to seeing the patterns and personalities of the other youngsters to start emerging.

Both my Morelia (Bredli & JCP) also like to strike their food from above, and have a definite hunting posture (vs. relaxing on their ledges/perches).

That's awesome that Shag and your other critters are settling in well T. You'll start seeing them out even more as they grow bigger, especially at night. My coastal and jungle are out perching most nights after lights out and they usually retreat back to their hides when the sun starts coming up. Wait until they start moving to the front of the enclosures and getting more active when they get hungry. It's a lot of fun to watch them. My kings still hide most of the time but will show themselves more when they're hungry. My bulls are out in the open most of the time and only in their hides for a couple of days after a meal.

Pariah is right though, we need more pics. :)

this girl is funny. She was striking wildly at the pinky on tongs I think just defensively but after getting a mouth full she thought what the hell I may as well eat it.

Very nice looking critters T. If they're all eating, pooping, and shedding without issues that means you're doing something right. Keep up the good work bud. ;)

Good looking collection! You started out with some great snakes and are doing well.
Your descriptions in your OP are some of the reasons Carpets are my favorite. :)

Right. In fact I almost mentioned on the OP that the behavior Shag was demonstrating was something you had described one of your carpets doing sometime back and I was envious. It is a cool behavior to witness and especially good when you get to reward the behavior on feeding day.

Very nice!! One day I would like to have a Bredli, but I don't have the space at the moment.
