Pacman stopped eating?

So daughter picked up a baby pacman that had been eating and growing like nothing I've ever seen. Went from the size of a nickel to barely fitting on hand in a few short months. He would only eat crickets and would not accept any offering via tongs. The other day I cleaned his tub replacing all the eco-earth substrate and now it doesn't appear he is eating at all as still have some crickets running around in his tub. He looks fine is nice and fat but I'm confused why cleaning his enclosure would make him stop eating.

There metabolism do slow down especially when full grown I feed mine no more than twice a week, sometimes only once.

Tempertures can also affect feeding.

Make sure to remove the crickets if not eaten right away, leaving crickets even overnight can be an issue.
