    New Snakes!
I truly can't say I was planning on buying new snakes today, but I've learned not to pass up a deal when it's presented to me. So here are some crappy cel pictures until they settle in and I can get some good shots of them.

    0.1 Lesser Huffman.

A lot more yellow in her than is showing up here. Totally different parents than that of my first Lesser Huffman too. As a bonus, this one is a total sweetheart.

    1.0 Huffman.

Another one from a different clutch. No shared genetics between any 4 of the Huffmans in the collection. He'll be ready to go in a year. Really excited to be working with this gene.

    0.1 Pastel Ghost.

She's over a year old already with some good size on her. Might be ready to introduce to York by next Winter. That'd be cool. The picture doesn't do her justice. In person she's very creamy with a lot of blushing.

    Thanks for looking,

    Dave

Huffman is it's own Co-Dom gene. I am by far no expert on it, but I've been doing a lot of research. This is my take on what I've found. It was originally introduced by Chris Huffman. The gene is a pattern morph characterized by what I call "melting" aliens heads. To me, the look like they're dripping. It's the easiest marker for me to identify. There is quite a bit of orange in the rings as well and a high level of blushing but can vary. Flames are nominal but it does have a good amount of speckling. In my animals, the belly is also cleaner than a normal. It really doesn't stand out as something wonderful on it's own to me, much like other pattern morphs. It's when the gene is introduced to and crossed with other Co-Doms that it shines. It's a great pattern enhancer with light and dark morphs. When mixed with darker genes like Cinny and Black Pastel, you get varying degrees of sliver snakes. Black Pastel x Huffman produces a darker snake with silver markings while Cinny x Huffman is more silver IMO. The Huffman Black Pastel Lesser is a total silver snake and may become an end goal for me. You can see what it does to Lesser. It's really nice. Since it appears not that many people are working with it, Ziller and a handful of others really, I decided to give it a go. Plans are to introduce the older Lesser Huffman to my Mystic Potion this year if they're both ready. The new 1.0 Huffman should be ready this next season but I've not thought about who I might pair him with yet. I might stall my GHI Ghost project and pair him with the new Pastel Ghost to get a het. Who knows. Hypo Huffmans are amazing.

Just circumstances really. Didn't go seeking them at all, but at the very least it could set me apart if I ever go bigger than hobby level. I think the four I have a a very nice stock to start some exciting projects. Really happy with the POG too. She'll be a great match with the GHI Chocolate het I already have.

That Lesser Huffman looks awesome! I'd eventually like to get some Huffman stuff, love how it combines into everything.
