    Dragon snake (Xenodermus javanicus)
I came across the Xenodermus javanicus the other day and was just blown away by how they looked. I've tried doing some research on them just for curiosity and there appears to be very little in the way of information on them. I saw postings from about 4 years ago saying that people were now introducing them into the pet market but I've not seen anything about anyone actually owning them which makes sense as no one appears to know anything about them.

Personally I think they look amazing, no I'm not off to try to get one purely because of looks. I'm just curious if anyone else has come across these, owns one or has any information on them. I have a bad habit of looking through pictures then reading up on everything new I find. Just surprised there is not more information out there considering what information you can find on every other type.

First of all they're not pythons they're in their own family.
From reading some stuff on the internet it looks like no one keeps them because they are nearly impossible to keep alive in captivity and they are exclusively frog eaters. For some reason they just do not survive in captivity or at least no one has accomplished it yet. The longest I read of someone keeping one alive was a year and they kept it in a completely dark enclosure and fed it live white tree frogs.
    Where did you see one?

Get a file snake instead. I looked into them a while back also. Doesn't look like they are good captive pets.

I have a file snake, neat looking animals. Eats like a dream. These are cool though, too bad they don't do well I would love one.
