Good place to buy frozen rats?
I've been buying arctic mice brand and I want to start saving some money so I'm going to order online. My killer bee is eating large mice but I want to switch her to rats but I need somewhere that sells smaller quantity then 25 of rat pups bc that will last me approx 3-4 months and I think she will out grow them before there gone. I also need small rats for my super pastel but quantity isn't really an issue bc if he out grows them I can save them for my kb.

I found a site called underground reptiles that sells rat pups in quantities of 10 but idk the quality of them. I'm open to any suggestions and quality is a must.

Also I would like white rats only bc my super pastel has always refused colored ones.

i just ordered from Big Cheese Rodent Factory since my local source went AWOL or whatever. they sell mice/rats in packs of 20-25. so does Rodent Pro, Reptile Deli and other big feeder suppliers. their quality of feeders and packaging/shipping is really good tho. it seems that Mice Direct sells smaller packs of 5 and 10. check them out.

keep in mind that u have to add on shipping costs for online orders. most have a few shipping box sizes with flat rate. so if u only order 10 rats, they would probably still use their standard size box, fill it with dry ice and ship it out. the box would be mostly empty save for 10 rats and dry ice, yet u still pay the full flat rate shipping cost. i paid $29 shipping for my last order and the box was 75% full.

do the math. would 10 rats plus shipping still cost less than buying from a store? would it cost more or about the same? take this into consideration.

Big Cheese and Perfect Prey are both really good.

I'll also be ordering 25-50 small rats for my super pastel. I just want 10 pups for my kb. So there will be 10 pups along with smalls making it worth the shipping cost.

I get my rodents from perfect prey. I have never had a problem with my order.

I've been ordering from Big Cheese for about 2 years now. The rats are always clean and nicely packaged. Maybe it's just luck of the draw but they're usually on the larger end of the size ranges too.

The only issue I've had is that sometimes they're out of the sizes I need.
