Can snakes have an itch?

    Can snakes have an itch?
    Or does it have to be mites or any other parasites?

    Because I just watched my bp right after eating pressing it's nose and practically his whole head against a branch with so much power that his head flew about 5cm forward when he scratches off.
    It didn't look like mites btw, and there's no shed coming soon.
    Should I visit a vet ASAP or..?

    Mine 'wipe their mouths' on things just about every time they are fed, pressing and rubbing their snout against whatever is available, first one side, then the other.
