Any suggestions on decent, reasonably priced digital scales? Is 1 gram increments (sp?) okay or does it need to be more precise?

It does not need to be precise ... actually 5 gram increments are good enough.
Try ebay.

i got my digital scale here: http://www.oldwillknott.com. specifically i got this one: http://www.oldwillknott.com/cgi-bin/...ldWill2_7001DX. i love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get a digital scale. if you buy that same exact scale other places as a reptile scale you will pay a lot more for it, even twice as much as it is here.

I just ordered one off of lllreptile.com. It was on sale for $40 when I got it, but it's since gone back up to $56 I believe. I think it's in 1 gram increments. Guess I'll find out more about it today... it should be arriving via fedex shortly. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/...compact-scale/
I also got a good book from them (or so I'm told) called "Ball Python Manual". It's said to have great information and is reasonably priced at $7

I wouldn't say 5 gram increments to be good enough if you're trying to weigh geckos though. I"m sure 5 gram increments would be fine for just about any snake though :)

"The Ball Python Manual" is an excellent book on the basics and for < $10 it should be a must have for every ball python keeper.
It's available on Amazon.com as well.

notice that the above scale is the same exact scale that i bought on www.oldwillknot.com. while the sale price is comparable, lllreptiles's regular price is more expensive. just trying to save ya some dough. ;)

oh and that is very true about the geckos. at about 2 grams when they are born (crested geckos), every little gram counts! :P

Wow. Good deal. I wish I would have found that before I got mine. It seems to come with more (all the tubs and holders, not sure if that is provided with the one I purchased), and it's cheaper than the current price I previously posted... although I did get mine on sale for the same price. Oh well. :D

Well, since this was posted in the "Ball Python - Husbandry" forum, it seemed to me that the intended use was weighing "ball pythons". :P
Why would anyone want to keep anything else anyway?
