I want to purchase a plastic tub setup that can last the life of my snake. I found this 52 quart container from walmart for very cheap and Im wondering if its a good choice or it is too big? Im going to be purchasing a hatchling.

I have several of these. They would be more than ample for an adult ball python but probably overwhelming for a baby unless you really cluttered it up. You would be better off getting a smaller tub for now.

Also the lid is long enough and flimsy enough that a snake could push up on the middle of the long side and escape, so you will have to figure out a way to secure it.

For an adult it's fine for an hatchling 6 quarts to 12 quarts will be ideal.
