Can I use a UK thermostat?

If I bought UK to US power adapter could I use a UK thermostat?

Aren't the plugs different ?

The plugs, voltage and frequency are different.

Plug converters are cheap - but would rely on the thermostat being dual voltage/frequency. A voltage/frequency converter would be expensive and inefficient since the heater would also be powered via the converter.

I know my Microclimate EVO is 230V/50Hz only.

The thermostat should say on it somewhere what its voltage requirements are. Nowadays lots of portable electronics' power supplies are designed to accept a range of voltages so that you can travel with them and only use a plug adaptor. That is certainly not the case with every item that plugs into the wall, but most things that do will have a sticker or a stamp on them somewhere that will tell you (most likely in extremely tiny print).

I know there's a couple of UK companies that are making products for sale in the US that should be plug-and-play. I can't remember the name of the company off the top of my head but they make a couple of thermostats as well as some heaters.

Yeah I'm trying to find some. There proportional thermostats are way cheaper then the ones in the US. I was looking at the microclimate thermostats. I couldn't find any info on there website saying they can be used in the United States so I sent them an email.

Aparently there's a US distributor for them. I looked into them awhile back, but they were more expensive. Can't remember the site though.

Microclimate never emailed me back so I ordered 5 thermostats from another company and called before asking if they were proportional or on/off and they told me they stay on all the time. Well I got them and they were on/off :/.....they are refunding me everything though. I then broke down and was going to order a herpstat 4 & 2 but I see now the 6 is out and for only $100 more then the 4 so I bought it. I just hope mine will be in with the first batch of them so I don't have to wait for them to get more lol.
Is the standard probe size 12' for the herpstat? I couldn't find the info, just seen they have 12' extensions.

It should be. All the other ones are.
