Please help! (Tip of the tail problem)
Is this what a tail looks like as it heals? I got this Python from a Pet Store owner that neglected his sheds. The tip was black and came off with warm soaks and Eucerin non scented lotion. I was hoping people could give some help and advice on what to do now. The tip of the tail is thinner and has less coloration.

    Welcome to the forum Corey.

If ithe shed is left on the tip of of the tail, that part can possibly be lost, as blood flow is reduced to that area.

Good thing that you removed it.

To answer your questions, I believe some pictures would be most helpful.

Hard to tell if the tail still has stuck shed or if it's been constricted for so long that it will just take a while to return to its normal shape.

that pix of the tail is outta focus so it's hard to tell how the scales on the tip looks like exactly. but the shape does look a lil funky. don't worry tho, snake skin heals and improve after some good sheds.

also the tail will not affect it's breeding and the injury has no impact on your clean Pastel's genetics.

Soaking is fine. I would stop using the lotion as Eucerin is petroleum-based and prolonged use can cause scale damage.

Ok, thank you. No more Eucerin.
