    Dry ice euthanize method?
Who uses this method? Will the dry ice air make the rats cold? I want to offer them to my snakes as soon as their dead.

Does the air from the dry ice affect the rats body temps? How long do they keep their body temp after their dead so i can offer to snakes right away?

I use this method; there are a lot of youtube videos on the subject if you have an interest in doing it right. What i have found is the rats are still warm once i am sure they have all been euthanized. If you want to hit them with the blow dry for a second you could but i dont think its necessary if you feed right away.

The way dry ice works is the C02 replaces the oxogen in their lungs so the brain and organs shut off, if they dont touch the actual block of dry ice then the cold factor wont come into play before they expire.

Only buy the amount of dry ice you will need each time because you cant store it like regular ice and wont stay good (solid) for long periods.

co2 tank will be cheaper in the long run; But if your using dry ice and feeding right away, no need to heat up. My snakes took the feeders every time, rats and rabbits...... but that is just my experience with it.

Right, a tank is the correct way to use CO2. Dry ice works but is a crueler method as you can't regulate the flow and causes panic in the rats. A paintball canister and regulator is a little more initially but you'll come out ahead after a few uses.

Rats should still be warm after using a CO2 tank.
