    Thermostat Problems
I have a Hydrofarm thermostat, but I seem to be having some trouble with it. It was working okay when I had it on my smaller heating pad, but that heating pad was too small for my BP. Since I've plugged in the properly sized heating pad, it doesn't seem to want to heat up very much now. I have it set higher than I would actually want it, but it's still barely getting the hot side to the low 90's. The light indicates that it's heating, but it can't seem to achieve the set temp. Any advice?

Where and what are you using to get your temperature reading?

I've got an Accu rite and the probe is inside the tank under the paper towel

Try placing the t-stat probe between the heat pad and the bottom of the enclosure.

I still haven't been able to get my temps up. The t-stat just can't seem to achieve the temp I've set it to.

How are you measuring your temps? Are you using a temp gun? If the heat mat or thermostat are defective you'll have to replace it.

I'm measuring them with an Accu rite, and both the mat and t-stat are new

I would test the temps with a temp gun. They're usually pretty accurate. If your surface temps are in the low 90s why are you trying to raise them?

I have my thermostat set to 103. But it only heats up the pad to about 93 max. That's just my case.
