You observed her on the cool side, wrapping the water dish, appearing very miserable and laying funny, and you saw the ovulation? .... I'm not being sarcastic, just trying to get a feel for what all stages she has been through already

Well first you can pick her up delicately and see where the first egg is compared to the cloaca. Second if she is coiled tail tucked in she is very close.

Now how long is really a matter of experience and knowing your animals, I can tell you that I had a female going 50 days POS (that a total of 65 days after ovy).

What I look for is position of the first egg, abnormal swelling, discomfort etc.

While 27 to 35 days is usually the average some females obviously do not follow those rules, and if you have concerns the best is to consult a professional. Personally at 36 days I would not worry yet.

I was starting to get anxious on day 35 like you and the next morning she had her eggs. Maybe she's just waiting for Easter!

She is very desconforto, and a coil (not perfect) with the tail in the midle. she is a big girl and is now with 3,4kg. Her regular weight is 2,5kg +-.

I was getting worried about my firl too she is on day 35 now, but then I spoke with someone who had their first clutch of the season and that girl was 56 days after the pre-lay shed.

though this is my first season breeding BP's the girl that is late is a proven breeder with 3 clutches under her belt, so I am not to worried but I really can't take the wait anymore.......

    41 days and couting!
The incubator is waiting. Anyone know how much clarity ball python eggs can handle? my incubator is close to a window, and the front door is made of glass. No direct sun of course.
