Doesn't hold on.

I have a juvenile spider morph. He's only mildly derpy and the wobble is only when he's excited or mad. But my concern is that he doesn't seem to hold on when you hold him. Like he's not concerned about being dropped at all. Snakes usually hold on to you where with him i had to hold onto him. And I don't Ean like on my lap talking like standing with my arm out several feet above the floor. Is he just fearless or is it maybe related to the spider thing? Or are some just like that?

One of mine was like that, but started holding on as she got older.

He may also just be weak in the back, especially if he's been kept in a tub most of the time and not handled a lot. Once he settles in and is feeding regularly you can handle him more and see if his back end strengthens up.

I've only had him a couple weeks. He wasn't in the best shape and was rather pissy when I got him so I'm not really sure how things were with the previous owner. I kinda thought about that and the possibility of it being related to the spider gene .

I have a young spider and he is totally fearless. Holds on just fine, but never spooked or head shy at all. Also eats like a champ. He likes to burrow his head into my hand all the time.

Oh no my guy hates it when you go near his head. Doesn't bury his head he's always ready to strike. Lol. He's just a jerk.

My girl is like that. She really only grabs onto me with her tail if she thinks she is going to fall or trying to reach for something far away. Try and see if she hangs onto you while you hold her a few inches above the bed by just her back 1/3. My girl will wrap around my hand if I do that lol. Otherwise she is pretty oblivious to falling lol.

Both of my spiders were like this. Once they hit about 500 grams they started to handle "normally".

For the most part Valentine will wrap or hold but every once in awhile for whatever reason she's all loosey goosey and I have to be sure she doesn't fall. It's almost like she knows I won't let her fall so she has no f***s given.

My young one 131 grams holds on with his tail always...my older one 400 grams will sometimes but not often. Older is a pastel the younger is a Pastel, Lesser, Enchi.
