    The waiting is killing me!
If I've calculated correctly she'd due on the 14th. I've forgotten how hard the waiting is!

She had two, so I'm not sure who the sire is. First paring was a Pied. The second was my Mojave Yellowbelly. I never saw locks with the Pied, but he was with her plenty. Had plenty of confirmed locks with the MYB. I'm hoping for a het for my long term project, but I'll be happy with either.

How will you know a het pied is there if there was 2 sires?

Well that's the million $$$ question. I won't. IF I get a clutch of all Black Pastels, I'll be reasonably sure that they are all from the Pied. If it's a mixed bag, there's no way of knowing. Then again if it's all Black Pastels, my luck might just be really bad. I don't know if markers will present or not. The only sure thing is to prove them out.

She's gorgeous! I know some people don't like the 'duck-bill', but I don't mind it at all... Black Pastel girl is on my list of BP's I want to get eventually, to match up with my Black Widow boy. Black Pastel+ something. Just haven't decided what the something is yet... I was thinking Black Pastel Pied or het. Pied, until I saw the price they're going for! Those are a ways outside my budget. I look forward to seeing what comes of the pairing - I can imagine just how stressful the waiting is!

I'm not sure I'd consider her a duck billed specimen. Others may weigh in. I'm just not seeing the characteristic upturned nose in her.

This is the day I brought her home. Good side view I think.

And a nice head on shot right after a shed. She's narrow in the face, but so is my Killerbee.

Thanks though! She really is one of my favorites.

Oh, I didn't mean that SHE has duck bill! I wouldn't have been able to tell in the first photos anyway. I meant the Supers having the potential for it - the reason I want a Black Pastel mix female to pair with my Black Widow is the potential for a Super Black Pastel hatchling, which, to my understanding, will have the risk of duck bill.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding!

That is true. The risk is there. I think that's one of the reasons you don't see these all too often. That and kinking. Good luck with your project!
