Eyes suddenly cloudy and hasn't peed in weeks?
My bps eyes are suddenly very cloudy, almost blue, which I know is a sign of a shed to come. Shes only a year old, so is it common for young ones to shed more frequently than older ones? Ive had her since mid January, I think her last shed was around the beginning of January.

Also I don't know how often they pee but its been a couple weeks and she's still drinking water, is this normal?

    Advice appreciated! Thx :snake:

Everything sounds fine and dandy .... They shed whenever they need to so there's no set pattern .

Not sure what you mean when you say she's still drinking water ...and you know about urates , I trust ?

She hasn't peed in a couple weeks but she's still taking in water so I'm confused as to where its going.

When she does go the coloring is fine.

Snakes don't 'pee' in the same way mammals do, the release their metabolic waste as a hard white colored urates.

The urate reminds me of plaster or cement. Have you seen any of that?

On top of the above comments- my ball pythons "pee"/urates anywhere between once every 2~4 weeks. I'm sure everything's fine!

Yes and no, urate is a by product of their urine but they do urinate liquid as well :gj:

Sometimes when they go into shed...they just go on hold for about a week on average. This is just something I have noticed over the last 2 years with mine. Once they shed, after about a day they start to act more like themselves. My BP's stay in their hide just before they get the cloudy eyes. Once they shed, they stay put about another day and often will relive themselves of any waste. Then you will see them exploring in the evening once again. That shed process seems to really put them into a shutdown mode. I can now tell when they are going to get the cloudy eyes days in advance just from observing my one BP for 2 years now. Now that my BP is a few years old...he seems to shed less and the entire process seems to last a little longer than a younger one.
