    Humidity help!!
So I've got a 20 long with two hides on either end, a water dish in the center, UTH and thermostat, humidity and ambient temp reader on cool side, and temp gun to check the rest. I've recently switched to newspaper from aspen and I'm having a horrific time keeping my humidity up. I've noticed today that about two or three scales in the very center of my bp's back are kind of dry like he's shedding (but he's not in shed) and I'm quite worried. I'm thinking about getting some sphagnum moss and putting it in a hide? But I've heard that causes bacteria and such.. I plan to change it out and all but I'd like to know if anyone has any other suggestions or tips before I order it. Thanks much!!

Screen tops tend to have humidity issues. Check this thread!

I have humidity problems in winter also. I solved them by using cypress mulch as bedding, also i put spagnum moss under my hot hide. Dampen it then spread it under hot hide, and that hide will become a humid hide. I also use a zoomed reptifogger, and that should do the trick. If you don't want to use a fogger, you can cover 2/3rds of the screen top with a piece of aluminum foil or a couple of pieces of plexiglass. Depending how low your humidity is i would try the moss and covering the top first.
