Flat or semi clear tubs: which do you prefer?

Hey everyone,


Which tubs do you guys prefer for housing your Ball Pythons? Flat (like the ones from Freedom Breeder) or Sterilite type semi clear? I've been going back and forth with the FB tubs because they have the built in cup holders.

I personally like the semi clear type because it allows you to see your snakes without disturbing them. It also gives them plenty of security, having 3 sides covered.

Thoughts?

I went with FB. The tubs seem to be more durable than Sterilite and some other tubs and I like the built in water bowl.

As for semi clear tubs, I don't think the semi clear allows you to see your snakes well enough to reduce opening and closing. If you really want to look at your snake, your going to have to open the tub. I think the dark tubs add to the snakes sense of security and reduces stress.

I like clear or semi-clear so I can see inside the tub. For the few who eat live I can monitor feedings without having to open the tub and risk having an unexpected live - and very mad - feeder jump out and run away.

I prefer semi-clear too. Being able to see in just a little helps me monitor whats going on in the cage a lot better without having to constantly open it and provideds me the opportunity to observe my animals. I can see if their has been a bowl movement by the condensation building up on the walls as well as the temperature and humidity gauge i keep in the cages to monitor the ambient temperatures. I use V-70's and love them.
