Red Axanthic

Can someone explain what red axanthic is? I see a lot of snakes for sale lately that are listed as "het red axanthic" and I am curious as to what exactly that gene is AMD what it can do? Thanks!

Red axanathic is the super form of het red axanthic hence the name het. Corey was really bad at making names it seems. Het Red Axanthic (HRA) is a co- dominant morph that is characterized by their very dark backs and patterns if I recall correctly. The super form, Red Axanthic, is named after its resemblence to the general look of an axanthic line. You can find more information on Corey Woods' website (the guy who first produced it.)

The morph itself is pretty subtle and esoteric in my opinion but I love it. Onyx (Black Pastel x HRA) is one of my favourite designer morphs. You can find a lot of examples of HRA and Red Axanthic combos on world of ball pytyhons to get a better picture of the potential and capabilities of this morph.

There are like 1000 morphs that are barely distinguishable from a normal (to me, at least) but look spectacular once they're mixed with the right genes. One of my favorite RA and HRA combos comes from mixing them with G-Stripe.
