Nighttime heating lamp ?

I recently got a night time heating lamp. I wanted to trade out. I have a UTH and a daytime lamp. But since I got the night time heating lamp my BP prefers it over the UTH at nighttime. Right now I run the Nighttime lamp for a few hours (I don't want to stress her out). After I turn it off she goes back into her hide on top of UTH. So my question is if I have a 12 hour cycle between the daytime lamp and the nighttime lamp will it stress her out ?

I ran a day bulb and a night bulb and never had an issue.

My current setup has a light for day in each cage and one red bulb in a lamp in the corner for night.

Running the light 24/7 is not an issue.

Im not sure what bulb you are using but the red ones last much longer than the blue ones. I like the blue ones better as they more pleasing to my eye but they burn out to quick.

I personally just use a CHE and no actual light bulb at all. My snakes get their lighting from the room and from the plethora of lighting my beardie needs. I run my beardies lights on a 13 hour day timer. On at 8am, off at 9pm. Summer time I usually change it up and do on at 7am, off at 10pm. Any animal needs some night time to reset their clock. imagine you being kept in a room with lights on 24/7. You'd go crazy.

But you are a human that sleeps during the night. I worked shift work for over ten years. This meant I slept during the day like our snakes largely do. I can sleep in the middle of the day in a fully lit room without any issues.

Many of our snakes are up during most the night and I think having a little light is actually better than leaving them in a room that is completely dark. If they have a nice dark hide the light outside be it day or night is not a factor.

To each their own but this is my way of thinking about it.

True I guess but I just do lights out at 9pm or 10pm depending on the season. But to each their own, its like the argument of live over F/T lol.

As mentioned above, lighting for BPs seems to be largely personal preference. We do know that they don't require anything special (UV/etc) in their world, but beyond that you'll find people in different camps. There are breeders that stick to a specific lighting schedule and those that don't put much thought into it at all and both methods have great results. As long as the basics are in place and she's behaving normally, then I'd say "you do you". :gj:
