But you are a human that sleeps during the night. I worked shift work for over ten years. This meant I slept during the day like our snakes largely do. I can sleep in the middle of the day in a fully lit room without any issues.
Many of our snakes are up during most the night and I think having a little light is actually better than leaving them in a room that is completely dark. If they have a nice dark hide the light outside be it day or night is not a factor.
To each their own but this is my way of thinking about it.
