    AP T8 Help
I saw that there was a stickied thread about AP cages but it didn't answer my question and it was old so I didn't want to zombify it since I'm pretty sure that's against the rules! I'm going to order a t8 model with sliding glass doors, flexwatt tape, a white fluorescent fixture, and the 8" stand. I would call and ask but being on the phone makes me incredibly nervous! How do I tape the flexwatt to the enclosure? Do I use a special tape or is it sticky on one side? I've only used UTHs so sorry for my ignorance! Also what does the 8" stand look like? Is it tall like a table or is it just to make sure it isn't touching the floor? I'll only have one AP cage so I won't be stacking them.

You should use foil tape to tape the flexwatt. Not sure about the stand.

If you feel anxious on the phone, you can always email them with any of your questions. AP are really good about getting back to their customers via email.

The stand will basically be an 8" tall matched color/material box which will just keep the cage off the floor as cages sitting on floors quickly lose heat and also are subject to drafts. I'm sure you could put the stand on a table, then put the cage on the stand but kind of pointless imo. Mostly the stand would be used if you are going to have a stack of 4 cages since trying to have a 4' stack of cage on top of a 3' table will mean you need a step stool to get up to the top cage.

And as pointed out, you use foil tape for heat tapes. You can buy a roll of it at any hardware store. It basically is tin foil with a sticky side that you peel the paper off of and stick it down.
