    Can I move him?
So my ball just ate his first meal with me last night but he has been in his cool side snake cave for the past 4 days. He will poke his head out for a little bit and then go right back in. His hot side is perfect at 90 and everywhere else fluctuates between 78-82. I'm worried about him not digesting properly. Can I get him out and hold for a minute and then put back in? He always goes right for the hot hide as soon as I place him back after handling.

I would advise against taking him out right now. Your snake knows what temp he needs. Let him handle the thermoregulation.

    Leave it alone.

As long as you are providing proper hot side and cool side temps the snake will be fine on either side while digesting.

I figured that would be the answer. Would rather ask rather then be sorry I didn't.

He will figure out what he needs as long as you offer him the opportunity. Pretty much all my snakes prefer their cool sides of 80 over their hot sides. Tonight is the first time in about a week I caught my Colombian BCI girl under her RHP coiled up and she ate a rabbit 3 days ago. My sunglow girl went under her CHE for about 10 mins after eating a rat and that was the first time in about 2 weeks. And my BP, well she has been on a hunger strike for about 3-4 months so she pretty much lives in her cool hide during the day and comes out at night to destroy as much as she can before 7am hits when she goes back into her cool hide lol.

My guy is usually really active at night but the past few days he's been in nothing but the cold hide. Usually he is all over the place. But I feel bad bc he is only in a vision v211. I ordered a v400 a week and a half ago so hopefully it will be here in the next week or 2. He is only 25" so he's ok but like I said he likes to cruise around so I think he will enjoy the extra room. Darn vision ship times.

Honestly I doubt he will care for the extra room lol. BPs are even more lazy than boas and they are pretty lazy. About the only things I've seen that cruise around are carpet pythons and retics.
