Man these T8's are super easy to clean !!

Sunday I did a full strip down and cleaning of my BP's T8. I spot clean like crazy so his cage never really gets very dirty but it was due for a total strip down and cleaning. I removed the sliding doors and scooped out what cypress substrate I could then used a shop-vac to get the rest which works awesome. Wiped down good inside with water/vinegar mix then a couple rinses and whips with plain water and paper towels.
Got everything set back up and arranged just how I wanted it and of course Walter had to get right in and start ransacking everything how HE wanted it as you can see.
I tried to avoid a humidity issue by having my new cypress mulch stored in a tub out of the bag to dry up some and going with a 50/50 mix with aspen but my humidity still jumped to 99% and fogged over glass doors with water droplets. Ive removed the doors twice now and wipe them and the inside walls down with paper towels and do seem to be gaining some ground back. I don't think this spike in humidity short term will be bad for Walter but if it doesn't get down to regular levels in a couple days I'm going to try putting a couple bags of that "boil in a bag" rice to try and suck up some of the extra moisture.

Hey thanks that's a great idea. Yea it's crazy the difference with humidity between these and a glass tank. My T8 stays about 65-70% just with the water bowl and I never need to mist. During his shed I just add some water into the skull I have in there packed with moss.

Just using a pro products RHP controlled with a herpstat 1 . Works awesome. I can't remember the wattage, I talked to the guy at pro products and explained my rooms ambient temperature and he recommended a size and sent it direct to animal plastics and they installed it so when it came all I had to do was assemble the enclosure and it was ready to go. Couldn't be happier with the whole set up.

what mixture of vinegar/water do you use? I've been looking for the correct amount of water to dilute the vinegar with but I haven't found a sure answer that would be safe with a bp

I'm no expert by any means but what has worked good for me is a mixture roughly 1 part vinegar to 6-8 parts water. I dilute it pretty good. The main reason I use vinegar is because my well water is fairly hard and vinegar works good to take off any hard water spots I may get on glass or anything. That and while it does smell it is relatively non-toxic. I'm just a little scared to use bleach as it's pretty nasty stuff.
