Danby Wine Fridge Incubator DIY
I decided that I wanted to create something a little bit flashier than your typical DIY incubator...
It can hold a maximum of 6 shoe-box tubs
I used waterproof LED strip lighting and an LED computer fan to give it a glow.
Heating is maintained by a Herpstat 2 thermostat and 12 inch THG heat tape.
If anyone wants to recreate this build and has questions about wiring etc. Message me :)

That's pretty cool. Let me guess, your planning on working heavily with the Disco gene?
Re: Danby Wine Fridge Incubator DIY
I really wish that I had taken more pictures during the build, but I can offer a quick overview of the steps.
- The first think I did was gut the hardware out of the back of the cooler. It came out quite easily after being unscrewed from the metal frame of the cooler.
This step is not necessary, although I would recommend it as it dramatically reduces the weight.
- I then removed the shelves from the inside of the cooler and sealed off any drainage holes that were present with waterproof sealant.
- There is a cooling element along the back of the inside of of the cooler, which i removed. Once removed, it left a small hole in the back of the cooler, which i used to run the electrical components through.
- The LED strip and computer fan are wired together on a 9v phone charger and the 12 inch heat tape is wired to the thermostat.
So far it has been maintaining a consistent temperature, and I will post more pics once my first clutch drops this season. :) Hope this helps!
