    Flexwatt & hotspot?
Will flexwatt heat just as well as a zoomed uth on a vision cage? The reason I'm asking is bc I'm moving him from a v211 to a v400 and the zoo med worked great for the 211 and flexwatt is way cheaper then zoo med. Also if I'm putting the vision cage on wood stand will the flexwatt be ok as long as I put foil tape down first?

The hot spot size in the v211 is 12inx8in, should I make the hot spot bigger in the v400? Like 24inx11in, or 18inx11in?

I have been using a good bit of 4" heat tape and found that it heats pretty well across the entire surface/length of the heat tape.

I've always read that it's good to have a hot spot around 1/5-1/4 of the enclosure's floor space.

Are you using it on a vision cage or something similar? I would hate to waste the money if it won't heat up as well as a zoo med uth. I already have plenty of foil tape so It would be $14 for flexwatt and cable compared to $30 for zoo med. But don't want to end up spending $44 if the flexwatt don't work.
