I got two live rats and my large male ate his extremely quickly, but my smaller female will not eat and it has been over 24 hours! How should I deal with this! HELP:taz:

Re: Help!
How old and how large are the snakes and how big are the rats? Can you give the second rat to your male?

Are you providing food and water for the uneaten rat? If not, then please do so. Do not present a starving dehydrated rat to any snake.

^^Great advice. That might not bode well for the snake.

Please don't say you've left the rat with the snake for 24 hours. If so, get it out of there and put it in a home with food and water for another week and try again.

I have a large critter carrier for when mine decide to skip a meal.
Add in some type of bedding, some fresh veggies (no celery! I've been told they can choke on the strings) or fresh fruit (no citrus, it's poisonous to them) or whole grain stuff and some water. Some pet places will let you return it as long as it's still alive. At least, I have no problem returning to the ones I usually buy from but they know me well enough to know the rats been well cared for once it was determined it wouldn't be food.
