So. Figured Shasal is all settled in, and had a very nice shed last night - her first since I got her - so I'd take a few pictures. I also got to rack up another unexpected 'experience' as a Ball Python owner... Lots of photos here.

And finally... not quite a perfect shed, but only because the 'cap' came off separate to the rest - everything came off on it's own, with no problems at all!

So. As to the 'new experience'. I was sitting here, editing images to crop out the extra material around the edges and shrink them down. Oh - I was going to try and get a better belly shot, but when I tried, she coiled around my hand and hid her head in my palm. I'll admit, I felt bad about harassing her and let her stay there. After a bit she relaxed, slithered around.. up my arm, across my shoulders, down the other arm... explored my chest a bit, then went over and draped herself across my arm again and hung out all calm and mellow. I figured - she settled down and she's getting comfortable! Great! Yeah, she got comfortable all right. Then I felt this 'plop' against my leg below her... and a wet sensation... and another 'plop'...
Suffice to say that I figured eventually I'd get bit by a python. Haven't yet, but it will happen. I wasn't expecting one to take a huge poop on me. She did that in her cage last night, when she shed! Crazy snake must have been an overstuffed sausage!
A cleanup, wash and change of clothes later, here's the lovely girl - poorly portrayed by my lack of photography skill.

The very first day that I got Donuts, I was handling her and was feeling great about how much she seemed to trust me and feel comfortable climbing my arms and hanging out in my hands. I guess all that wriggling around gave her bowels too good of a massage, though, because she peed AND pooped all over me :rolleyes: Gotta love em
I'm going to go with 'Marking territory' and treat it as a claim of ownership. That's better than 'Snake lavatory'!

Thanks! I was completely not expecting her to go... I'm really hoping to skip on the bite experience for as long as possible, even though I know that once it happens, I probably won't mind too much. Miqula certainly did her best when I first got her to tag me - she never quite managed, and finally stopped even bothering to open her mouth when she 'struck'. She did actually 'bump' me once - but since she hadn't opened her mouth, there was no bite!

It's an experience I can do without repeating! But now that it's happened once... I'm sure it'll happen again...
In other news, I may just have to open up another thread or two pretty soon... got a call today, and I'm expecting my two 'Delivery Pending' boys tomorrow!
