Should I feed two smaller size prey or one larger?
My local breeder doesn't have rat pups which I need for feeding day today. My question is should I offer two smaller prey items like rat fuzzies or should I offer a single larger prey item like a weaned rat? My two ball pythons are weighing in at just under 200g if that helps. Thank you in advance for any help.

I prefer to feed one larger item than two smaller. But larger within reason. I don't think I'd jump up more than one size.

No I'd only go up to a weaned rat because they should be at rat pups right now.

I think you'll be fine with a weaned rat.

It would really depend on the size of the weaned rat. If it's too big it could cause problems. If where you get them there is none that is the right size (largest diameter of body of snake) then I'd go with bigger fuzzies more often or 2 of them at a time.

I have a snake right at that size (200g) and I'm feeding her 1-2 rat fuzzies each feeding. I could probably get pups but I ordered 2 bags of fuzzies last time so I'm kind of trying to not waste them all together. I can't wait to get pups though to go to one rat per meal. I haven't seen a rat in my weaned pack that she could take though without me really worrying. If I had to do it I'd probably let her go a full week (I've been feeding her every 5-7 days) and then offer the smallest weaned I have. I really wish I could just feed those smaller snakes a fuzzy every 3-4 days though, that would be so much easier.

Feed what they will eat. ;)
Many people don't realize how much of a size difference there can be between a light weight pup and one of the heavier end.
Look at them and find something close.
