Tub setup in room temperature room.
    Hi all,

I've kept snakes in racks before in a heated room but I've seen many posts on here of people successfully keeping ball pythons in single tubs in a non-heated room. I got a 28 QT sterilite tub from Walmart and soldered some holes in it and attached a heat pad from Reptile Basics to it with a hydrofarm. My house is usually 72-73* but the tubs ambient is only reaching 75-76* ambient, hot spot is 92*. I think I may have made too many holes or I might get a 11x11 heat mat that is bigger and covers more space underneath. I love how I keep humidity perfect but I don't want to risk a RI. I cannot heat a room (live in an apartment) so any ideas or feed back will be useful :)http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c43c341d81.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...e105dff8de.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...818d050759.jpg

If your cool side is 75/76 you will be fine.

Maybe put a towel on top to hold in some extra heat.

High 70s ambient should be fine.

From my experience, the holes will help with humidity adjustment, but they don't affect the heat too much in my setups. I was like you, but I wanted to raise the ambients just a tad for my own piece of mind, so I just got a little oil-filled radiator style heater and set it beside my rack. It's got a built in thermostat and it really doesn't run all that much, but my ambient temps are never below 78 now.
