    What is this?
Ginger had a good shed last week, and I fed her some live mice. I just noticed these marks/wounds? on both sides of her mouth. Can anyone tell me what they are? I can take her to the vet tomorrow, but I'd like some opinions here. The pics are of both sides of her mouth.

She looks fine to me... but maybe I just can't see what you are looking at?

She's never had the black stripes before, and it looks like she has a red spot on her mouth in the second shot.

I don't have any experience feeding live mice but, could it have scratched her as it was going down? With its hind legs perhaps?

I would guess the live mouse got her a little to cause those two spots. In my opinion it doesn't look bad though, but I would watch any injury just to make sure it doesn't manifest into something more. Everything else just looks like her coloring to me.

I see that red spot I don't like feeding live prey it scares me and then I worry for hours if my Baby is ok.

It looks mostly normal! However on the left side shot it does appear to be some minor irritation on the lower labial scales. Probably from a struggling mouse. It doesn't look serious at all.

My one has got those black stripes as well, I even think they grew a bit larger but I guess I've just been to worried about them as well and confused it with him growing overall ^^'

I think the red marks could have been caused by the mouse too, just keep watching them

I think they are small heat pits - some of mine have them on the lower jaw and some don't. :)
