There is really very little that is similar about them other then that they're both pythons. the care needs for both species are very different.

Green tree pythons bite alot more
You will get tagged frequently. Also, GTP's are not as robust as Ball Pythons you have the potential for more health problems with GTP's. GTP"s Need tall cages with good hiding spots and climbing opportunities. Gtp's also bite a lot more. Last time I dealt with one, I was snake sitting, I got bit almost every time I took the snake out of the cage. I used to want one, now not so much. I'll stick with BRB's, Balls and Red Tails.

    Thank you
Thank you all for your responses, again I'm still new to everything and would rather talk to people who have personal experiences. There are so many different sites that have so much information that's all different so I like to talk to people who know about them. So again thank you for answering my question.

Its really hard to answer your question because the differences between a BP and a GTP is great. If you had specific questions it would be far easier to help you. After you read up on each and have a better understanding of them you will be able to ask the questions that you still have.

The book I suggested earlier is thought to be "THE BOOK" on GTPs and is highly recommended throughout the hobby. Download the Kindle version and give it a read. It really covers everything. I have a hard and digital copy.

There are also some Kindle books on BPs that are not a bad read.

Their is a wealth of info here you just have to look for it. After that we can continue to help you with whatever you need.

They aren't half as docile as BPs. They also have pretty sharp teeth, I'd never put one of those near my face like I do with my BP. But then again, I've never owned one. I just know they can be pretty aggressive.

They are very different in husbandry. You need to do research. Also the babies are a lot more delicate. Never try to pull them off of a perch as babies are prone to spinal dmg easily. Also different species will have different temperments. Biaks generally are satan in snake form. Aru and Sorongs are more mellow but again each animal is different and it also depends how much time you invest in working with them Bottom line is do a lot of research before you get one.
