    Questions about follicles
    I have a 1.3 collection of BP's and this season is my first attempt at breeding them. I cooled temperatures slightly at the end of October, and a couple changes started to take place;

    The male started fasting after a couple weeks of cool down and has been fasting since.

    I have observed copulation twice with one of the females, and this female has also continued to pound medium rats savagely.
    I have read that this is common practice for developing females prior to their ovulation. Does that sound correct?
    I also heard that females will try to cool seek, but she has been spending the majority of her time on her hot-spot (85f ish).
    A couple of the times I have found her laying halfway inverted on her side.

    Do you think she is developing despite the fact that she isn't cool seeking?

    Have you tried palpating - a t-shirt can help the snake move more smoothly during the process.

    From what I've heard - Females generally stay towards the cooler side while building, and then hug the heat after ovulation. If she's still eating and digesting, though, that may be why she's on the heat, and 85 hot spot isn't very hot. Last year my females were hounds up until about 4 months before they laid. For 4 months prior to laying they had no interest in eating, but some eat all the way up until laying. One of my girls last year ate a mouse two days before she laid.

    I second the idea of palpating with a t-shirt or cloth so that she slips through your hands easily.
