Start Up Kits - Thoughts (eventual viv size)
    Hello.

I originally was going to get a BP in July, But after a visit to the petshop (with the mrs) and the person working there confirmed, snakes dont reach full size until 18months/3 years the Mrs has agreed to let me get my snake sooner.

However the guy in the shop then tried to sell us a starter kit that inlcuded everything for £40.00 - I went online and found a better one. Maybe for not this one but what is everyones thoughts on these "all in 1 starter kits" - I know the snake can only be in these for a few months but it seems the best route for me. this is the kit im looking at for a hatchling BP - LINK TO EBAY

Second question: I have been given a 30 inch x 16 inch x 16 inch vivarium. Is this going to be big enough for a full grown MALE BP?.

I only ask because some confusion is drawn up with the fact people say a 3x2x2 is the size for a adult, but adult females get bigger then males so that size is surely for females as the sex of the snake is never given for sizes.

    Thanks

The "kit" cold not be more wrong for a ball python.
The only thing useful in it is the thermometer and one hide.

I am not familiar with the hardware stores on the other side of the pond but there are many members here that can point you in the right direction.

The aspen is ok too but yeah pretty much what PitOnTheProwl said. Of course though a new snake should be kept on paper towels during quarantine as its easier to spot mites and check out its poop for any obvious weirdness....so yeah maybe aspen isn't the best in that new set up :P

    Thank you.

I think as a starter I will be going with the Tub build. Stupid Store salesmen giving bad advice, promoting the start up kits.. How can we expect anyone to be responsible owners when the guys selling you stuff are in it for a quick buck...
