7 month hell is over

    7 month hell is over
Rex (King Rex the Finiky) decided that tonight was the night and after a 7 month fast, ate a mouse.

He looked good throughout the 7 months and he was never in any danger, but I wondered if I would survive.

After not the remotest sign of interest since September, he slipped into his S-curve as soon as I open his enclosure tonight. Like he was saying, "I hope you brought groceries, dude."

It'll be nice to see him regain the lost weight and return to King Rex the plump.

For a while there, I gave serious thought about adopting him out. My wife says no more snakes until one of the already present reptiles goes. I really want a BCI and was talking myself into sending Rex packing, but if I can get a good summer of suppers into him, he may get a reprieve.

For anyone still waiting for the fast to end, what the pros all say is true; keep your husbandry on target and they'll eat again when they're ready.

Finally, I can get some sleep now.

Yeah when Bob gets into his I'm not eating modes i look at him and say " If you don't eat I'm tradin you in"

He then generally just stares at me and flicks his tounge a couple of times as if to say "You wouldn't dare"

See the bad thing is he knows I wouldn't get rid of him the stinker
