    Best room humidifier
Just checking to see what people use to humidify their reptile rooms. I currently use a DeLonghi oil heater to keep ambient temps up near 80, but need something to keep my humidity up as well during the dry winter months.

Here's the one I've been using for a few years now: Lasko 1128.

I use it in conjunction with the Herpstat humidity probe, but does have it's own adjustable humidistat if you want to go that route.

Cool, what made you pick this one? What percent humidity are you able to hold in your room?

High capacity storage tank and good customer reviews are what made me go with that one. I have the Herpstat set to hold it between 50-55% and it doesn't have a problem keeping it there with our dry AZ desert air. It goes through 0.5-2 gallons a day depending on the season, so part of my daily routine is to fill the tank. It's got a removable canister for easy refills that empties into a larger holding tank.

Great. It is unbelievable dry here in CO, similar to AZ im sure. If the water runs out while the unit is on does it auto shutoff?

No, there's no auto-shutoff. It holds about 4.5 gallons, so there's a built-in safety net if you miss a day or two.

EDIT: The one time mine did run out, the fan just kept blowing. It didn't seem to have a negative effect on the motor.

This is the same humidifier, but the current newer model. It also happens to be a bit cheaper and is Amazon Prime eligible.

That's funny. I could've sworn the link I gave was the same as yours, but I clicked mine again and apparently not! Of course go with the cheaper, Prime-eligable one here. It's the one I meant to link in the first place. :gj:

Good time for this topic, one I have been using has been less than effective, so I ordered that one to give it a shot thanks
