    And we have a lock!
It's been 3 years of getting my two IJs acclimated and dialing in their husbandry....the first 2 years they showed no interest in each other. Today I put them together for the first time this season and they locked instantly! I must say it was a lot more brutal compared to snakes, but both came out unharmed. Hopefully this wasn't just a fluke one time lock and we can keep it going this season! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9d6b474867.jpg

That's very cool love those guys and I still think they are way under-rated.

I completely agree, and while captive northern breeding is somewhat well established in the US IJs ate still heavily imported

They have locked for the second time. As soon as I put the female in the males cage he is on her. The only issue I am having now is I can't find any reliable info on a set amount of locks to allow. Even on the BTS forum there is some back and forth. Reason being I don't want the female to get too beat up. Each time they lock her pulls some scales of her back and neck from where he is biting. I have heard everything from one lock is good to let them lock as many times as possible for a month...
