Anyone with a split tongue? :D
This is a slightly odd post, heh, but I'm curious, anyone here with a split tongue? I figure us snake lovers might be more inclined to have such a unique body modification.

(I don't have my tongue split, but I must admit I love the look and have been thinking about getting it done for a while...but I'm a wus when it comes to pain so probably not!)

Think about it seriously for a minimum of one year before acting.

I wouldn't do it because, well, how do you explain that on a first date. You kiss her and there's practically two tongues there?!

Still cool to see though. Carlisle, be sure to show us when you get it done!

Don't do anything you can't change back later.

What kind of kissing are you doing on a first date!?!

I don't, and I wouldn't. There's a huge risk of infection from it, and once it's done, there's no going back. That said, I do like tattoos - but I wait at least a year, usually more, to make sure I really like the design before I start working on having one done. I only have tattoos done in areas that aren't visible unless I want them to be. That can't be said about your tongue. Also, consider how you're going to talk or eat while it's healing... and the effect it'll have on your speech even after it's healed. Those that I've spoken to who have it done usually seem to have ended up with a lisp. Now, if none of those problems are a discouragement, then go for it! Hope you enjoy it!

Honestly, I've never related split tongue surgery with snakes. Their tongues are completely different, and serve a different purpose.

I have a double piercing, got one at 18 and the other at 21. Did have to learn how to talk a little different (to avoid a lisp) and can't roll my 'R's like I used to. They are farther set back so not overly noticeable. Have had corporate jobs and never been an issue. The tongue does swell a lot when healing, that's for sure, but it heals rather quickly. I agree with waiting a bit to make sure you're comfortable with the decision before doing any body modification.

I'm taking a week off after getting it done so I'll have time to heal and get the stitches out. I just wish it wasn't such a long drive to get it done.

Haven't done it yet! ;D Lol.

But speech wise, I'd be terrified. I also bite my own ONE tongue enough as it is, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't last long with that in there.
