    Blk Mex King - Help
    Hello everyone,

    Background:
I've had my BMK since last August and bought him from a local pet store. He had been previously owned and I was told he was about 4 years old. He's 4 1/5 feet long, eats very well and has been great... up till now.

    Problem:
I recently found what looks like mal-formed eggs in his (possibly her?) cage. At first there was one, then the next day there were too more (that was Wednesday - totally three). There hasn't been anymore since, but I fed him Tuesday (not seeing the egg thing) and he regurged Wednesday (he has NEVER regurged or laid these egg things before). I broke one open when I removed them and it was yoky.

So I guess my question is: Are they eggs? Are they follicles that developed and passed? Should I take him/her to the vet? Was the regurge because of the stress of laying the unfertilized eggs? Is it normal for eggs to pass without fertilization, like birds do?

    Thanks for any help,

    ~Matt~

Hmm.. well I'd take her to the vet. Sounds like some eggbinding. Very strange that they only appeared now since you've had the snake since August..

Well, she laid 15 eggs in total, one right after another (I guess she wasn't bound), but I find it wierd because like I said, I've had her since last summer (although i though she was a he).

All of the eggs were slugs (I candled them), but the mom is doing fine and has since ate and is back to normal. This was really weird. Had I'd known I would have given her a box so she wouldn't have had to lay her eggs in her hide.

I thought that snakes absorbed the fat deposites from the folicles if the eggs weren't fertilized. Oh Well - I'm just glad she is ok.

    Strange.

I have a femalle MBK and she never done that. I never tryed to breed her too so I don't know. But I tought she would reinsgest the follicles. May be the heat or something wrong ? Might have happens cause she feed too. Usually you don't feed them during that time.

I know this post is older but if she happened to get cool enough to trigger a cool down cycle that could have sent her into egg production and with no male to fertilize them you end up with slugs.
